How covid is changing the kid's world?

Exposure

Exposure

I believe all parents would understand that exposure is the one thing that would greatly limit our child’s perspective of life such as travel experience, huge excursions, going to events, parties, group learning, and many others more. However, I believe that we have been and started to adopt the new norm in how our life and our kid's life should shift or have shifted during this covid period. Rather than finding the best English tuition in Singapore, we are more tuned in finding the most reliable tuition centre that could convey the right learning technique during the E-learning or home-based learning especially we know that kids attention span is low during online learning as there are many distractions available when they are at home. Nevertheless, there are always two sides to the coin, and exposure there might be some limitations but at least our kids would understand the importance of health during this period just like back then kids that experience the Singapore SARS period.

Way of learning

Way of learning

E-learning as the new norm? yes, many maybe still question the reliability of e-learning as compared to the traditional learning style of a classroom setting. Yes without a doubt that classroom settings allow kids to not only learn about the academic aspect but they still would be able to pick up soft skills such as communication with friends and going for breaks to purchase their lunch. All such small details matter in our kids learning journey, hence some parents are still tuned in finding the classroom setting and still without the doubt to source for the best for our kids even in this current situation, just as mention above that there is more consideration on rather just the best English tuition in class or the best enrichment class as we would want the quality of the class.

Communication

Communication

Yes, mention briefly earlier that communication was one of those key factors that kids lack during the e-learning phase as they are constantly facing the computer or laptop to have their class session while they have missed out the friend's conversation part, however with the covid situation as it is parents are also working from home and this also allows more communication with the kids as we would have more time as a family and this way we would be able to communicate with our kids more efficiently and cover the lacks of their growth with the best of our ability.

We should be more open-minded and ensuring kid's voices are being heard and encourage so to ensure positive enforcement and increasing their self-esteem if it did something right while ensuring a two-way flow of communication (efficiently).

Alternatively, if you are interested in knowing all your options available within your location in helping your kid’s learning journey. At Lessons4All we too wrote different types of blogs of kids learning journey academically and non-academical related. The past blog that wrote on learning options “How To Be Better Parent (Part 1)”.
